Michael L. Arvanitis, M.D., has been an attending colon and rectal
surgeon at Monmouth Medical Center since 1988 and served as Assistant
Program Director of Surgery from 1991 to 1998. Dr. Arvanitis is
the director of the Patricia Burton High Risk Colorectal Cancer
Program at the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth focusing
on the treatment and prevention of colorectal cancer. He is a clinical
assistant professor of surgery at Monmouth’s teaching affiliate,
Drexel University School of Medicine. Dr. Arvanitis is a member
of many organizations including being both a diplomat of the American
Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American
Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and served as President of
the New Jersey Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons from 1994 to
1996. He also is a member of the New Jersey Society of Surgeons.
Dr. Arvanitis has published numerous articles within the field
of colon and rectal surgery. In addition, Dr. Arvanitis has presented
at both national and international medical conferences. He has
particular interest and expertise in laparoscopic surgical treatment
of Colon and Rectal Cancer, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease
and diverticulitis.
Dr. Arvanitis received his undergraduate education at Lafayette
College and his medical degree at Hahnemann Medical University
in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at St.
Vincent’s Hospital in New York City and completed a fellowship
in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland,
Ohio.

Roy M. Dressner, D.O., FACS, FACCRS
Colon and Rectal Surgeon, Roy M. Dressner, D.O., has special expertise
in the surgical treatment of colorectal carcinoma, diverticular
disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He received his
bachelor's degree from New York University and his doctor of
osteopathy degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He completed his surgical training at Monmouth Medical Center
in 1997, where he was honored with the John C. Borden Memorial
Surgical Award for Proficiency and Outstanding Service in the Field
of Surgery. He then completed a fellowship in Colon and
Rectal Surgery at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, New York.
A fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American
College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Dr. Dressner's professional
affiliations also include the American Society of Colon
and Rectal Surgeons as well as the New York and New Jersey Societies
of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and New Jersey Society of Surgeons.
With a special expertise in the minimally invasive surgical treatment
of colon-rectal cancers, diverticular disease and inflammatory
bowel disease, Dr. Dressner performs advanced laparoscopic procedures
for these and other gastro-intestinal disorders. He is also the
medical director for the Center of Defecatory Disorders providing
diagnostic and treatment modalities (both medical and surgical)
for fecal incontinence.

Thomas R. Lake III, M.D., FACS, FASCRS
Colorectal Surgeon

Thomas R. Lake III, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, is a graduate of Florida
State University, where he received his bachelor’s of science
degree in biological sciences. He received his medical degree from
St George's University School of Medicine and completed his surgical
residence at Monmouth Medical Center. He was awarded a fellowship
in Colon and Rectal Surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Medical
Center/University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Hartford.
Dr. Lake is actively involved in the medical and surgical management
of diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. He has a special interest
in anorectal surgery including pelvic floor disorders leading to
incontinence, constipation and rectal prolapse. He routinely performs
laparoscopic and open colon and rectal surgery for benign and malignant
disease, as well as anal surgery for hemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses
and fistulas. He also provides colon cancer screening colonoscopy
and anal physiologic testing.
Dr. Lake is board certified by The American Board of Surgery and
The American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a fellow
of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of
Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Glenn S. Parker, M.D., FACS, FASCRS

Glenn S. Parker, M.D., FACS, received his medical degree from
University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed
his residency in general surgery at the SUNY-Kings County Medical
Center and completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at
University of Connecticut School of Medicine, St. Francis Medical
Center.
Board-certified in colorectal surgery, Dr. Parker has special
expertise in advanced laparoscopy and open surgery for colonic
and small intestinal disorders including diverticular disease,
inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal carcinoma. He also specializes
in the treatment of hemorrhoids, prolapse, anal-rectal disorders/physiology
and colonoscopy. He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor
of Surgery at Drexel University School of Medicine.
Dr. Parker is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal
Surgeons and American College of Surgeons, and a diplomate of the
National Board of Medicine. His special interests include laparoscopic
colectomy for colon carcinoma and PET/CT Scan detection of metastatic
colon and rectal carcinoma.
