Dear Ms. LaRusso:
It is never often enough that we take the time to say
thank you for a job really well done. Ms. LaRusso, I
don't really know where to begin, but I just wanted you
to know that you, Dr. Barao and the rest of the staff
have made a tremendous impact on my life. Not to bore
you with all the fat history that you've heard ad nauseum,
mine is no different than anyone else's. I ate like a
pig and I just kept putting on the weight....it's really
very simple.
It's about 4 months since I've had the lap band procedure
and I couldn't begin to tell you how happy I am. The
biggest reason I felt I wanted to write this note to
you is that I just went through the worst part of my
year for gaining and I actually lost. That's right...I
normally will put anywhere from 8 - 12 during the period
from Thanksgiving to the middle of January. This year
I lost 6 pounds. Hey, it doesn't sound like a lot for
two months, does it? But every other year for the past
15 or so, I'd gain a dozen and I wouldn't get it off
till March and most times not all of it. So I look at
it like a net profit of 18 pounds!! I'm thrilled. With
the help of the band, I was able to push myself away
from so many fat dinners, you wouldn't believe it if
I told you. Myself, coming from a big fat Italian family,
well I'm sure you understand. Eating is what we lived
for.
I just wanted you to know this. Thank you and the rest
so much. For the record, Sammi and Laura were always
such a pleasure to deal with. Always in a good mood and
always getting me through the rough patches. Thank them
both very much for me.
I'm halfway there, halfway to where I haven't been in
ten years. Woo hooooo......thanks again.
